Accreditation Consultant – The Joint Commission

Accreditation Guru’s (AG) Accreditation Consultants are integral to the support of client organizations as they navigate the road to national accreditation. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and project management minded and has direct experience with one or more accrediting bodies. AG Consultants are the face of the company and act as representatives of AG toward clients and external entities. As such, they have a duty to represent AG with loyalty and respect the confidentiality and good name of Accreditation Guru, Inc. and its clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accreditation consulting services to organizations and other entities requiring assistance preparing for local, state, federal or national accreditation or certification/licensing
  • Analysis of policies and procedures against accreditation standards
  • Documentation review and editing as required for accreditation self-studies
  • Construction of and consultation services related to maintenance of accreditation reports
  • Strategic plan development/assistance as necessary
  • Board of directors’ presentations
  • Training course development and facilitation
  • Performance and quality improvement activities, such as plan design, committee creation, report generation
  • Onsite training, mock interviews and facility reviews to prepare client agencies for accreditation onsite surveys
  • Other activities related to accreditation consultation, as necessary

Experience and skills:

  • Direct experience with COA, CARF, The Joint Commission or IACET accreditation review process
  • Current or past experience as an accreditation Peer Reviewer/Surveyor, preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Self-starter and able to work independently
  • Ability to make presentations in a clear and concise manner
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times and through all types of communication (electronic, face to face, video conferencing)
  • Advanced degree(s) preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

Other Requirements:

  • Number of hours per week will vary based on client’s needs
  • Majority of work to be conducted remotely with occasional onsite trips to client sites
  • Accreditation Consultant position operates as an independent contractor (1099)
  • Must have laptop or other device with MS Office for use while traveling
  • Accreditation Consultant shall use his/her own resources in providing consulting services to Accreditation Guru, and shall be at liberty to determine his/her own work schedule provided that deadlines and quality control standards established by the Company (AG) are met
