There was recently cause to celebrate at Lee County Youth Development Center (LCYDC) in Opelika, AL as they were awarded reaccreditation by the Council on Accreditation (COA). This was not their first time being accredited, but I am told it was their smoothest process yet. After working hard for many months, putting new policies and procedures in place, ensuring staff was fully trained and furthering their quality improvement efforts, LCYDC once again demonstrated their commitment to providing the highest quality of care in the areas of foster care, residential treatment, child and family development, family preservation, youth independent living, mental health services and more!
LCYDC was understandably proud of their great achievement and surprised their staff with a congratulatory lunch. Here is a picture of Laura Cooper, Executive Director, making the announcement to her very proud and happy team members. 🙂
I always recommend to any agency to take the time and celebrate their achievement. Some do it with a staff outing, some with luncheons, some with a staff picnic. Whatever you chose, you have come a long way and should be sure to take time and celebrate! Again, congrats to LCYDC!
